NBC just announced the season debut roster for SNL which will be premiering October 1st! With host Margot Robbie, who made her acting debut as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, we are super excited to see how she hosts SNL! Musical guest The Weeknd, will also grace us with a performance following the announcement of his new album Starboy which is scheduled to be released November 25th.
The Weeknd made his SNL debut just last year, performing “The Hills” with Nicki Minaj and “Can’t Feel My Face” from his 2015 LP, Beauty Behind the Madness. This time he is promoting his first single and title track, "STARBOY" featuring Daft Punk. Following the success of Pharrell's infectious uplifting track "Happy," we have no doubt that The Weeknd's new single will do the same. But more importantly, let's cross our fingers that the robots join The Weeknd on stage!
“We have been working to fix this & bring to you the show that was promised,” the festival said in a statement. “We are happy to announce that The Weeknd will be performing at 6:15pm.”
The Weeknd will in fact perform at New York’s annual Meadows Music & Art Festival in Queens on October 1st. Earlier today, the festival announced that the R&B crooner had to pull out due to a scheduling conflict. Just hours later, however, The Weeknd was re-added to the lineup.
Stay tuned for the SNL premiere and be sure to check out the release of STARBOY soon.
